This jacket has nothing to keep the wind from blowing up your back. Here in Chicago--its all about the wind (and the wind chill). Relaxed fit is code for: its cut big and squared off (masculine). With this in mind: purchase the jacket; change your body shape to straight up and down; and, stay out of the wind. I am disappointed.
"It rocks" was the reply from my college bound daughter, who I bought the coat for, gave me when I asked how the coat was working out. When I asked for additional feedback, I got,: "toasty warm from my neck down to my knees", mission accomplished. Thanks LL Bean, one less thing to worry about!!!
I was worried that this coat may not fit me and that it would be too warm. Happy to report that the Misses Petite, XL size fits my regular size 18 hips just fine. It's not too tight or snug, and the lavendar color is lovely. It's warm, but I don't feel overheated. I love that I can take off the hood with an easy zipper. Well done LL BEAN!
I can be very hard to fit as iI am large busted but the XL Petite fits perfectly. The coat is very well made and is sure to last for years. I like the hat with faux fur trim that keeps me warm walking the dog on especially cold and windy winter days. i'm very satisfied with this purchase and do recommend it.
