ProsGreat Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I love this coat! I haven't taken it off since it came. It's around 22 degrees today and I'm warm as toast with only a cotton sweater underneath. And it looks just great - size just perfect. What a smart buy! Thanks, LL Bean!
With our first really cold spell of the winter, this coat is proving its value. It has been really cold and windy, but my dog still wants to walk. I wear this over a light sweater, and I'm good and warm. The only thing I dislike is the bidirectional zipper. I understand its purpose, but I get frustrated trying to get it going.
just got my coat today to replace my old tried and true down coat from Bean that was at least ten years old...very disappointed with the weight of this coat compared to older version...it feels like it weighs half as much...will see if the warmth factor compares once we start getting down to below-zero up here near Canada...also...the "dark raspberry" color in the picture is really more of a fuschia...if you don't like bright colors...don't order that color...the picture is not an accurate depiction of it...also disappointed there are no velcroed pockets on it...the side, diagonal zippered ones are not very roomy ( in order to hold my bulky mittens )...loved how the older version had four outer pockets ( 2 diagonal & 2 big flat ones )....am concerned about the fabric getting caught in the zipper ( nylon always seems to ). Inside chest pocket is also zippered....what's wrong with easier-to-open-with-mittens-on velcro? Test run begins today....I'm sure Bean will honor their fabulous return policy if i decide it's not going to work for me...
