ProsGreat Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
today's forecast is for blizzard like conditions till midmorning with wind chill down to about -2 and tomorrow it will be down to -10. Decided to try the coat today and it was perfect! I work outside as a crossing guard/noon aide and need to keep warm. I was comfortably warm without wearing lots of layers. I am looking forward to using this coat all winter due to our unpredictable weather. Thanks for a great product!
I like this coat, however I am not buying the 5 to -40 degree comfort range for one second. I wore this coat all though last winter in Chicago and here's what I'll say, it kept me warm in all temperatures as long as I layered underneath it and kept moving (generating body heat). Waiting at the train stop or sitting in the park I was chilly in 20+ degree weather. It doesn't seem like the coat has a whole lot of feathers in it (particularly in the sleeves), and I know it's not just the one that I have because I actually returned my first one and re-ordered a different size. As with all LL Bean outerwear I would also recommend ordering a size down, I normally wear a medium but the small fits perfectly even with a heavy sweater underneath.

I love, love, love this coat!!!! Just received it and I am THRILLED. I bought the dark raspberry color and it is beautiful. The fit is perfect and very true to size. I wore it outside this evening. Even in the cold and the strong wind, I felt so toasty warm. I am so happy that I bought this jacket. I will finally be warm this winter. I agree with another reviewer.....this jacket feels like butter on. It is soft and cozy. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!!!!
I am an elementary teacher and need a warm coat for recess duty. If this would have been it, they would have sold 20 more to other teachers in my building. Supposed to be rated to -30 and I wore it out in 30 degree weather and it was not that warm. Hardly any down in the sleeves. Big disappointment.
