I was so excited when I got this coat since I am always in and out the subways, unfortunately I am very very disappointed since this coat is not warm enough, you can feel the cold even if you have a couple of sweaters under. The hood is very uncomfortable to wear, it does not stay in place ... sorry but I did not like it at all.
Great looking coat and does well above 30F. But below that with wind, the coat fails -- it's just not that warm unless you wear a fleece vest or jacket underneath. Above 30F it's actually fine. Also great looking and the material is very high quality.
The coat is warmer than expected, especially given the light weight. However, the zipper ends are difficult to match up and use. I end up using the snaps to keep the coat closed, and that really cuts down on the warmth factor. The size runs a little larger than expected. The pockets are too small to hold insulated gloves. There is one inside pocket that can hold thin earmuffs. This would be a very good coat if the zipper worked consistently.
This is such a great coat. It is so warm but not bulky at all. I got the three quarter lenghth and was a little concerned that it would be uncomfortable while sitting in the car, but it's not at all. As a matter of fact, it even has a zipper that goes both ways so that it is not constricting. I love it!! It also has a inside pocket for my cell phone. As always with LL Bean, the quality is fantastic. This is a definite favorite gift this holiday for me!
