This is an absolutly wonderful coat. I ordered it in the petite and needed to size down. Other than the sizing it is a great find and oh so warm, functional and light. Thumbs up but watch the size.
Recently i purchased this coat after a lot of research and i am very happy with my purchase of your 3/4 Ultrawarm Coat. i am 5'5" and purchased the Petite as the Periwinkle color was no longer available in Regular. The coat comes just to my knee. i live at 9000' elevation in the Rocky Mountains and we have cold winters and very strong winds. When the coat arrived, i was surprised at how light it was and not as puffy as my previous down jacket. But when i began to wear it i found that it's quite warm and there are several features that i love: the lightness (you feel like you're wearing a windbreaker), the easy full-length zipper, the high collar that keeps my neck warm, the hood with faux fur trim which gives it more heft and resistance to the wind. Also the velcro front flap on the hood works great especially when the wind is strong. Overall i am REALLY pleased to find a coat that is not only very functional in our severe climate but also is beautiful and fun to wear.
I purchased this coat because we have had some unusually cold weather here in Virginia this winter. I was not disappointed in the color, lapis teal, which is just a beautiful shade and the comfort of it is just amazing also. It keeps me as warm as toast in any weather. I have a closet full of coats but this is definately my go to coat from now on. Originally wanted it in brown which was unavailable but am glad since the lapis teal is such a great color. I love everything I get from LL Bean.
I got this coat a couple of weeks ago and tested it out when the temp was minus 19 here in Chicago. I found with boots to the knees and the hood up with a scarf, I was warm. As the other reviewers mentioned it is very lightweight. I am glad I called LL bean before I ordered online. I went with the small and its perfect. I am 5 foot 6 and 135 lbs. It meets my needs for weather in Chicago.
