I just received this coat in white. The coat and the fur is beautiful and stylish. I am a size Petite 4 and with two sweater layers, the x-small is perfect with room to spare.
I bought this coat because I work in an elementary school where I have 2 weeks of crossing guard duty in the winter and recess duty every day. Winter at 5,000 feet can be frigid. I love this coat. Crossing guard duty requires 40-45 minutes of standing still (almost) in temperatures of below 0 degrees up to 20 dregees. I only wish I had bought the full length because I still have to wear a second layer over my legs on the coldest days. I didn't think this coat would block the strong arctic wind we receive, but it does!!! I love it. It took me a few days to get used to, as I felt I was wearing my sleeping bag, but as I am always cold (I wear some kind of coat or fleece all day indoors..summer or winter) the warmth was worth the sleeping bag feeling. It is also quite stylish and is the nicest, most dressy coat I own. Before I bought it, I compared many jackets of the same quality on-line and this was the best deal by $50.00. I highly recommend this jacket if you really want to be warm. One thing...I haven't washed it yet!!
This coat is awesome. The coat and the hood are very warm and comfortable without being bulky. I love that the fur on the hood is detachable. I ordered a medium, which is my normal size, and the fit is great, except that it is a little snug under the arms.
After moving from the South to Upstate NY, I needed a better coat to get me through the long, harsh winters. Wow, does this one do the trick! It's warm and snug, and keeps me cozy on even the coldest of days walking to to classes. I like that the pockets zip and that they've got inside pockets for cell phone, wallet, etc. It's comfortable and does the job, without looking as grandmotherly as some other comparably warm coats on the market.
