I recently moved to Upper Peninsula of Michigan, to one of the snowiest and coldest cities in the US. I have also lived in a variety of Midwest towns and cities with relatively harsh winters, and I must say that this is BEST WINTER COAT I HAVE EVER OWNED! It is phenomenally warm, very lightweight, and extremely comfortable. It feels like a soft light pillow all around you, but at the same time it is sleek, flattering, and stylish in an "outdoorsy" sort of way! I have the off-white, which does of course get a bit dirty around the cuffs, but it is easily washable and I haven't had any problems. I've worn it almost daily for the past 3 winters here in the UP, and it is still in great shape. Considering the quality, I can't believe it's not more expensive.
My mother in law got this last winter and she loves it! She got it in the brown color and it's really pretty. It is puffy, but lets be honest, that's the style. She was warm and comfy all winter.
I am petite in height and xs is size but got this coat in regular xs, so that it would be about 2 inches longer. It is about knee long for me and I think it is the perfect length for this coat. Petite would be too short. I do have to roll up the sleeves about 4-5 cms, but it looks as if it was supposed to be this way. Overall, I have it is black and it looks pretty good. But it is not nearly as warm as it is rated. I freeze in it if the weather is below freezing. I ended up wearing the rugged ridge parka that I bought from this web-site all winter because it it so much warmer than this coat. I wore this coat only occasionally.
Oh yes indeed a most cozy coat. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is the styling. I like knowing there is quilting but I think it would look nicer with another layer of smooth fabric over the quilting. A mere quibble of course.
