My coat arrived yesterday and I tried it on to check the fit. It was perfect, I am 5'-5" weigh 155 and am a 34 C and the Medium fit perfect with room for a sweater. It is not so puffy that you feel like a tank, it is actually slimming. I am a 48 and will look good on any age. The only negative is it is Christmas present for me so I will get it back on Christmas Eve!
LL Bean has been my go to since I was a toddler. My parents raised me on it, and I still continue to love it especially when I moved out to Western MA. I needed a warm winter coat since last winter was -32 degrees for almost all of January and my other fleece just didn't cover it. I ordered a small, and for a 5'4" 120 lb girl it was a little too big. LL Bean was awesome though I just shipped it back and am waiting for my x-small to arrive. The return process was so easy. I just filled out the form, put everything back in the bag, and sent it on its way. I'm so excited to get my new coat because when I tried on the small it was so warm and comfortable.
I found this coat to be true to size, not too big as others have said. I like the fact that there is room enough for a heavy sweater underneath and the length is great- the large comes down to my knees, I am 5'6". It's not too boxy and has nice pockets in the front. I haven't worn it yet in the cold so can't say how warm it will be. The only thing I don't like is the way the fur band is attached to the hood. It's too wide and it comes way down over my eyes, not very practical unless I'm wearing a big hat underneath to take up the slack. Love the green color.
I'm prepared for this winter! Even in Virginia, it can get cold. I'm ready now. Love the fit, and knowing it's LL Bean, it will be warm. Love plenty of pockets.
