This is the second Ultrawarm 3/4 length coat I have purchased. The first one just finally got too grubby to wear to work anymore, so now I have an old (still in total working condition after about 5 years) raspberry down coat to do outside work in winter, and a new teal colored one for my professional work this winter. I am thin, and the winters here in Arkansas can sometimes go to -9 degrees... making walking the block to work a lot more relaxed when wearing this coat. I was so satisfied with the first, I know I will be pleased with this! And, of course, it arrived quickly.
I purchased the maxi coat which is almost a twin to this one and felt I needed a shorter version for car travel, etc. Therefore, I purchased this 3/4 length coat.
I just received the coat and the temperature is 85 degrees. Therefore, I cannot give a review as to how warm the coat is but I am very pleased with my purchase. The quality is good, I ordered green and the color is as stated, and I love the pockets. Taking in consideration the overall length, the cuffs inside the sleeves, the closure at the neck and the hood, which protects your face, I would say that I should be very warm this winter. All in all the coat should keep me very warm.
Finally arrived--it was on backorder and arrived the hottest, muggiest day of the summer yet. That being said I couldn't wait to try it on--fit is perfect. I ordered a large petite in black. I had previously had this in the short version years ago and it was also a perfect fit, light weight and warm but I had not realized how short it was and, therefore, really did not wear it much--it mostly sat in the closet. When I saw this exact coat but a perfect length--above the knee and covering my backside and thighs I called LLBean and explained that I had this coat in the short version and really did not wear it they said to return it and they would apply the return to this parka. They certainly do honor their satisfaction policy. This parka was also on sale and I couldn't be more pleased with the parka and with LLBean. Highly recommend this item--especially after the brutal New England winter we just experienced.
This is my second Ultrawarm coat. I bought my first 3 years ago and it has kept me warm through -20 degrees F winter days. The coat fits perfectly, looks great for work, has wonderful secret pockets so I don't have to carry a purse, and washes like a dream. After 3 tough winters, it is still in great shape - the only reason I ordered a new one is that my first one was in the gorgeous winter white color, and, let me just say that my mother did not raise a graceful child. There are some stains that I cannot get out; so, for professional reasons, I ordered # 2 - in a nice, dark spruce color (which is gorgeous!). I will use my still-good first one for play and my beautiful new one for work and dress up on those awful days when it is too cold to go out, but we must!
