I wanted something really warm for my daughter for walking around campus. LL Bean has always been our go to for really top quality warm weather clothes. She loves the coat and I'm happy knowing she'll be warm.
Bought for Daughter who is in first winter in DC. She loves it and brags how warm she is now even outdoor ice skating. Really glad we bought it for her as she seems very excited and happy to have it.
This would be a great coat for fall or spring, but it is a very thin coat. I was expecting SO much more from LLBean. I have had only one day that was cold and blustery since I got the coat. It was high 20's but with a wind of about 10-15 miles per hour. I sure was not "toasty" in the coat. Since it was only that one day, I want to try it when we start to get bad winter weather. I am thinking I am going to send it back. ** It can not be really rated as a 40 below coat!
