I moved to Denver, CO a few years ago from NC and didn't quite understand what cold meant until my first winter here. I got this coat and my life was complete. This coat has kept me warm through snow storms, crazy cold evenings, and windy snow to the face (that hood has saved my face from so much frostbite). It fits great! It is flattering but roomy enough to layer up underneath. I love the zippered pockets, which are also super warm for your hands. The internal chest pocket is also handy to have. I can't recommend this coat enough. It has gotten me through many freezing days/nights.
I didn't buy this jacket online because I thought it would be too boxy, too puffy and I didn't like the colors. I ending up going into my local LLBean store & turns out... I LOVE THIS COAT! Prior to going in, I thought if I was going to take a chance on purchasing it, I'd want black or brown because the cream would look even puffier. I ended up with the paperwhite/cream (liked it far more than the other colors) in an x-small. It definitely runs boxy/roomy. I'm 5'4" and about 125 pounds. The x-small fits perfectly. It's super warm. We just had our first day in the 20s and it kept me toasty. I like that the fur collar is removable, although I like it & will keep it on. What a pleasant surprise! A+!
My daughter purchased this coat and raved so about it that I had to have one for myself. I bought it in Petite Chocolate Brown. It looks sharp with black accessories; gloves, handbag etc.
The sleeves and length fit perfectly. The coat is so incredibly light weight, that it almost feels as if I'm not wearing a coat. I can move easily without feeling constricted. The sleeves have cuffs that prevent air going inside. The pockets are lined with the same fleece like material as the cuffs, keeping my hands cozy when not wearing gloves. There is a zippered security pocket on the interior right chest for my phone or wallet. Since I am right handed, I wish that there was another one on the left side.
It is very cold and windy here today. When I went out to my car, not a bit of wind got through. I will be wearing this coat until it falls to threads. This is a quality product at a very reasonable price. Keep up the good work L.L. Bean.
