I've no doubt this coat is warm, but I had to return it due to its lack of style. It is shapeless - like wrapping a blanket around ones self. Needs a drawstring waist so you can cinch it up and give it some kind of form.
This coat was exactly what I needed. I usually wear a petite and after speaking with a sales associate I decided to buy a petite large so that I could wear jackets underneath. It is a perfect fit through the chest and the shoulders. I like the purple color, the coat is made well and I have had no problems with the zippers - even the hood zips on and off.
I really enjoy this coat. This was my first experience with LL Bean and I was very pleased by their customer service. I ordered my coat on a Sunday evening and received it on Tuesday afternoon with no shipping costs-- that's unheard of!
The coat is great. I'm 5'5 and 160 lbs and a M is a good fit with plenty of space for layers underneath. At first, I thought it may even be too big. Now that it's colder outside and I have layers, I realize a M is perfect. The only snag about this jacket is the zipper. I've only had the coat for a few weeks and the zipper gets jammed often. I think it's getting caught on the fabric on the inside, which could be fixed by ironing the fabric down so it stays out of the way.
Overall, this coat is great, especially for the price. Most other coats similar to this style cost $500-700. I was SO happy to find a coat in the style that I wanted for under $200.
