After reading reviews that complained about short sleeves, style (or lack it), and snug fit at the neck, I was hesitant to order this coat. However, I figured I'd give it a try, since I've been happily shopping at LL Bean for many years. I was not disappointed. The coat is lightweight, beautifully made, fits my tall, slender frame perfectly, and does NOT make me look like a marshmallow. The velcro at the neck is a bit snug and a tad wide, but it seems to be practical for keeping out cold wind. I cannot comment on the coat's warmth factor since I purchased it for a trip in December to the Northeast, but I've tried on many different winter parkas from many different brands, and unlike all of those, this one has every feature you'd want -- PLUS the LL Bean guarantee of satisfaction.
First I received the full length BUT the zipper didn't work then I decided to get the same coat but in the 3/4 length and the zipper worked perfectly BUT, the faux fur that really did look like road kill was thrown out. Too bad they didn't use a better grade for the money we spent as it would have looked rreally nice. I wish they make a quality faux fur and send it to me for free as it does add to the looks of the coat. The one that came with both coats were a disgrace coming from this Company and the price of the coat.....REALLY.
I bought the dark violet and it is lovely and would be even lovelier if it had a nice pretty faux fur trim around the hood. Thank you. I will let you kow if does keep me warm like it says it is supposed to do. smile
