I have had the same coat but full length for 3 years and have never been cold in it. I purchased the 3/4 length for my daughter now and it fits perfect. I am sure she will be warm this winter in Ontario, Canada. These coats wash beautifully and dry overnight hanging up.
I was concerned the moment I picked up my package and felt how light it was. Definately not what I was expecting from L.L. Bean. I have a down coat from a bargain big box store that is more substantial than this. I have tried fluffing the down but there just isn't much in the coat. For the price I was expecting far more.
After reading reviews that the coat ran large, I opted to stay with the large as I wear a 14 in jeans and dresses. It was too snug. I tried it on wearing a T-shirt and there was no room for a sweater. I was not fond of the outer shell of the coat.....it was too slick for me (much like a nylon ski jacket) and I just don't care for that. I won't deduct stars for that since it is my personal preference and one is not able to touch the garment online! I will be returning it but the quality is there.
Returned this coat because it just didn't seem worth the price paid. Disappointed in how "plain" it appeared once it arrived. I'm sure it would have been very warm, but was expecting a lot more quality in the style and workmanship.
