Went to Maine this week where the temps were low, especially at night. Coat kept me toasty. My only complaint was I fit into the small but it was too close across the shoulders, and I'm petite. I hate when a coat pulls across the shoulders so I had to go with a medium which was huge in the arms.
I love this coat--it is so light but so very warm. It does run big, so watch what size you order. However, with LLBean's wonderful exchange system, if you need a smaller size, it is handled quickly and easily.
Not winter yet so can't say how warm the coat is, but would tell anyone to buy the smaller size if you are "in between" two sizes. Like other reviews, I found this coat plenty big. Like the detachable hood feature and that the coat is washable. I bought the white and love the color. Our family all has LLBean down jackets and they are very well made.
I love this coat! I bought one about 10 years ago and was so impressed with how warm it kept me. It covers my tushie and keeps my back and wrists warm. This time I chose the green color (before brown) and it is exactly the color I'd hoped it would be. This is a good choice for work and play.
