After reading all of the reviews I wasn't sure I wanted to buy this coat. I was not sure which size to go with and was concerned by several of the customers overall description of this coat. It arrived today and I couldn't be happier. I am 5'2" and 120 lbs. I decided to go with the petite XS based on LL Bean's description on-line. When I buy coats or jackets from LL Bean and the item is listed as fitted I always go with the petite small. I made the right decision going with the petite XS with this coat. I fits perfectly - the sleeves, length & mid-section. While it is not fitted through the waist-line I did not find it to be bulky in the middle nor at the hem as others stated. I only gave it 4 stars because I can't comment on its warmth as of yet.
I was looking for something warm for winter, but dressy enough for dinner and travel. This coat is it. It fits beautifully, true to size with sweater underneath. It is lightweight but very warm, so it is not extremely bulky.
This coat would be very very warm in frigid weather but I ordered my usual size and could have put 2 sweaters underneath. It had all the features I was looking for in a 3/4 coat (ie, snaps and a 2-way zipper, hood) so I was very disappointed and had to return it. Also the zipper didn't work properly.
