I have never had such a warm coat. The zipper comes up high to keep my neck warm, I love the extra "cuff" inside sleeves to keep cold air from getting on arms. The hood extra Velcro keeps hood close to my head & prevents cold air from getting on my head. Plus, I can open up parts of it to allow "partial" cooling, while keeping the rest of me warm!! It is a super coat!! Vicky
...almost missed out. Coat was sold out in XL/black for a while, but I happened to check the website on Monday and was lucky enough to get the coat and it was delivered by Thursday!! Just in time for the next polar vortex here in Chicago!
Love, love, love it. As others have said, it is lightweight, but keeps me warm. Love the fleece cuffs, so much cozier than a nylon elastic cuff. Not a big fan of the fur trim, so I removed it and the coat still looks great. Have not removed the hood, as I'm sure I will need it as this brutal weather continues. Although I purchased it in black, I wear a brightly colored scarf and gloves and have had many compliments on the coat and the fit.
I am 5'9" (size 14-16) and usually wear an XL in L L Bean clothing. This coat fits slightly roomy in the body, but does not affect the look and with all the extra layers I'll be needing, I am grateful for the extra room.
I bought one of these coats a few years ago and decided I needed another one, they are the warmest coats I have ever owned, the best part is they are washable and really easy to take care of, my old one looks almost as good as the new one and is still as warm as the new one! I tell all my coworkers who ask me about it to get one! or two hehehe, I would never buy a coat anywhere else!
what i liked about this coat: it is not too puffy; the fur is detachable; the length of the sleeves and overall coat length were good; there is a hood.
what i didn't like about this coat: the pocket placement was off - too high and too near the center line of the coat; the pockets were to shallow; there were no interior pockets.
the pocket placement and lack of interior pockets made the coat unwearable for me.
i live in the city and having deep and numerous pockets that zip completely is a must for me.
please change the pocket placement, make the pockets deeper AND add an interior pocket or two.
this coat is very close to being a useful and visually pleasing much-loved piece of clothing.
