I am completely disappointed with this coat, which claims to be good to -40 degrees. Turns out it was only warm (even so much so that I couldn’t keep it zipped up for very long) when I had it on *inside* the store. I wore it to work today in temperatures around 34 degrees, and as soon as there was the slightest bit of wind, it cut RIGHT through the coat and I was instantly unhappy. It doesn’t hold the cold out, nor body heat in. So I did a bit more research this morning, and watched LLBean’s video of how they do their temperature ratings. It seems the ratings and warmth levels only apply when you are wearing a full layer of LLBean thermals *and* a vest underneath!!! Misleading much? I am so disappointed and frustrated and angry. We will be returning the new coat, and digging my old one out of the trash and getting its zipper replaced. While not in perfect condition, and still having a little patch on one elbow, at least I know for certain that it’s perfectly cozy (even in wind) and easily the best and warmest coat I’ve ever owned. Ugh.
i now own 3...warm, fit well, comfortable even in a sportscar......great length for shorter women...even sleeve length good.....like the zippered pockets...no losing keys or loose change....try this coat...you'll love it
I love this coat! It is perfect to go over any outfit, dressy or casual, or even over PJs to do a quick errand. I've been wearing it on the cool fall days, but it's so warm I know it will still be cozy on the cold, middle of winter days too.
I have actually owned this coat for around 5-6 years. It is the warmest, best everyday coat I have ever owned for really cold weather. The length and sleeves are perfect because I was able to purchase a Petite. I can remove the hood when I don't need it and it is washable, a must for messy, New England winters.
