Love this jacket, yes the sleeves from fleece do sneak through the outer shell when putting on, boo-hoo. Take 3 seconds and put them back in. Exceptional value, don't hesitate, buy one. You won't be sorry.
We like the idea of being able to add layers as the weather gets colder and remove the inner layer when the spring/weather warms up. I think that the sizing might run a bit on the small side or my crew has put a few pounds on over the winter. :) The fuzzy inner layer also works great for damp/chilly days where you don't really need a full coat just a light weight jacket
I like products that are versatile and serve multi-purposes. The Storm Chaser 3-in-1 is a great jacket and is that kind of product. Construction is very good and durable. I have owned one now for three years and it has seen me through the harsh New England winters and early spring wet weather fishing on my boat. The outer shell has a hood that is conveniently tucked away when not in use and I have worn it through some pretty heavy wet snow and rain without getting soaked through the jacket and when used in combination with the fleece, no wind gets through the jacket and fleece. I have used a water repellant treatment (I also purchased through L.L. Bean) once a year in washing the outer shell and the jacket still maintains it's water resistant nature. I often wear the fleece year round and it is very comfortable. The outer jacket is light enough to stow without getting in the way if you want to put it in a gear bag or in luggage when traveling. The only problem I have found is that the velcro around the wrist is starting to wear a little so that I have to make sure to press down firmly on the strap to keep it tightened around the wrist - I may bring it back to have their customer service look at it. Nonetheless, this is minor as it still works and it has outperformed my expectations being outside in bad weather either shoveling snow or fishing in the rain!
