I have enjoyed the many uses of this jacket. The New Mexico winter is dry, cold, and windy with large temperature swings from morning to afternoon. This 3-in-1 is perfect for the changing conditions. On days when it rains or snows, the shell is adequate to keep you dry from the car to the front door. I got this jacket in black as a gift for my husband who is difficult to buy for. It is nice enough for him to wear on cold/rainy days to his work but casual enough that he does not look over dressed when we are running around with our boys. This jacket is also ideal because my husband is a religious runner and our family is very active in general, so it converts easily to accomodate the weather for what ever we are doing outside.
The jacket is easy to take care of and can handle lots of washes in the washing machine without looking worn.
Both of our sons have the youth version of this jacket (they've had them for over a year) and they love it too! I too will be purchasing a womens version very soon.
