My wife was the first to buy one and after seeing it I had to have one. So versitile, its like having three jackets in one. And yes its WATERPROOF not just water resistant. I also have a goretex jacket and this in my opinion is its equal. The only problem I have had is like some others say the liner sometimes shoves out the end of the shell sleve, but you just shove it back in, no problem at all. Its not a super rugged coat, so I wouldnt test it against briars hunting in the woods and such, but it is all in all a great coat. I just dont see how you could go wrong buying this one.
I was given this jacket as a gift and have loved the versatility of going between the fleece-only or shell-only fits. Combined, I can use the jacket for snow activities such as snowboarding and sledding. A great investment for an active person at any age.
I purchased this jacket for my son who spends a lot of time outdoors in all kinds of weather. He loves the fact that it is layered, so that if he is involved in strenous work, he can always shed a layer. Great value for the price! Thanks LL Bean!
