One of my favorite "go to" LLBean items. I purchased my first fitness fleece jacket several years ago when the jacket length was shorter, which I prefer. I now own several of varying colors and wear them year around. They are good for sports, look good when going out, are easy to wash and pack well in a small space.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, great texture
My husband and I are going to Ireland in the fall and it can be a bit chilly there. I wanted a light fleece jacket to bring with me for an extra layer if I needed it and this jacket is going to be perfect. The jacket is lighter than I anticipated but when you put it on you can definitely tell it's warm. When my husband asked why I would pay "so much" for such a thin jacket instead of buying something much cheaper from a local chain store the answer was easy...the Bean quality guarantee! I know I'll have this jacket for years to come.
I own MANY of these jackets and have been wearing them for several years but...please go back to the ORIGINAL SIZING!! In '07 I was ordering these in a small and the fit was wonderful. They began running larger but became available in XS so...problem solved. Unfortunately, the XS are now becoming bigger and LONGER which is the issue at hand. If this is to become the standard length, please introduce them in PETITE. You yourself have shown in past LLbean advertising the hooded fitness fleece worn under the Thinsulate Fitness Fleece Vest (which I also own). Unfortunately these newer jackets (which are LONGER in both the torso and sleeve), now stick out from underneath the Fitness Vest by almost 2 inches. This results in a very unattractive and sloppy look. With this said, the jackets are otherwise wonderful. Comfortable, wash well (I am STILL wearing the original from 2007), but the length issue is turning this otherwise fantastic "jacket" into a "coat". With the many raving reviews you recieve my personal opinion may go unnoticed so PLEASE also listen to lbh3907 and Sweetly as they have also mentioned oversizing and need for petite sizes. My 88yr. old mother purchased two jackets and even with sleeves rolled up and long in the waist she chose to keep them. However, at her age and not a tall woman she would have much rather had these in a petite.
