Love the look and feel of this fleece. The longer length and fit is perfect and very flattering. The inside of the jacket is smooth and doesn't cling to the shirt you wear underneath. I wear a small and it felt true to size. Too often the fit of LL Bean tops are short and boxy. Nice to see some long and lean items.
I have the original one, for about 6 years....it has served me well. The new jacket is longer, and I ordered the blue and it does look a bit on the lavender side...but it is a beautiful color. All n all I would recommend this jacket.
This jacket is a shapeless blob. (The picture shows a nip at the waist which is flattering on the model -- not so in real life.) Sleeves are too long, and the material is quite thin -- much too thin to wear for a walk on a typical New England spring day. The blue thistle color is more of a light lavender in person, not as shown in photo. If you would like to look matronly and much heavier than you really are, then this jacket is for you. I'm sending it back.
I find this jacket very much like the one I bought years ago, but as others have commented, the sizing has changed significantly. My new jacket (size M) is larger than my old one (size L).
