This sweatshirt does not look fitted as on the model. It is actually quite roomy. I normally wear small and bought x small, but it looks pretty big. The sweatshirt material is really soft and feels very nice. The color is also really good, but the fit does not make the whole thing look nice.
I am 5 ft, 130 lbs and find that the small fits great. I notice no shedding. I do generally wash in cold water and hang out to dry, although I have occasionally dried in the drier with no problem. I generally find that this is enough of a layer, over a waffle shirt to act as a light jacket, and is great to layer under a w inter coat for added warmth.
It is good for vigorous walking, as any moisture wicks through to the outside and leaves you dry.
While I love the weight, the variety of colors, and the feminine style of this jacket, I have to knock off two stars because of its fit and performance.
In most Bean clothes, I'm a true medium. In this, I required a large -- and that's before I had shrinkage problems
This is not the wash-and-wear fleece that it's supposed to be. After washing and drying according to the care instructions it shrunk considerably, especially in the sleeve length. I think the only way to avoid shrinkage is to skip the dryer and hang it. When hung, it does dry quickly, but that's not quite the no fuss and bother product that a fleece should be.
I ended up exchanging my original jacket for another. I'll see what happens after I wash and hang dry. I find it annoying that I have to baby the thing so much but it's one of the few fleece jackets around that are lightweight and look nice.
Bean, my suggestion: Keep the style but rethink the fabric and the sizing
