This has turned out to be my favorite sweater of the winter. I like to keep our home at 68 during the day and sometimes I need an extra layer for real comfort. This sweater fits the bill because it's light-weight and very soft. It makes you feel as if you're being given a hug by a favorite friend. I'm so glad I bought it!
I was hoping to add this warm, cozy sweater to my winter wardrobe. But, the buttonholes were too large from the first unbuttoning when I tried it on. Also, there seemed to be a hole--too much space-- in the cabling on either side of the front... so I returned it.
This sweater was too itchy for me, so I had to return it. Some people may like to wear it with a turtleneck underneath. I am returning it for one of the Double L cotton cardigan sweaters as I want a cardigan for breastfeeding.
I love the Swift River sweaters. I also have one of the SR turtlenecks and it still looks new. Though not recommended, I've washed it a few times inside out in the machine on knits/cold. It's still very soft and has kept its shape so far. I recently ordered one of the cardigans and it's just as soft and cozy. The cardigan runs a little smaller at the bustline, though, and I can't wear it buttoned up because it pulls between the buttons. It fits OK worn unbuttoned over a lightweight tee or turtleneck. I haven't had any pilling yet and I don't find it to be too loosely woven. I have to turn back the cuffs, but I need petites which aren't offered in these. I like the collar, cables, and the lighter flecks in the knit, very light blue in the evening blue sweater. It's lightweight and not bulky. No pockets, but that keeps the look trimmer. It has enough wool to be warm, but not enough to be scratchy. Just right! I've received several compliments on it and thinking of ordering another color before they're all gone.
