I have two of these sweaters, and they are very comfortable and versatile. I usually only wear wool if it doesn't come into contact with my skin, but these are so soft I can wear them with short sleeve shirts. I do think they run small, and I had to return them for a larger size than I would usually wear.
I ordered 2 of these sweaters on sale a couple years ago and I have 2 complaints: 1. They run a little small. 2. They are very itchy to me! I will only wear these when it's cold enough to wear a long sleeve turtleneck under them because they are very itchy to me! I usually don't buy anything with wool in it but I thought I'd take a chance on these. I probably should have returned them. I haven't order any other LL Bean wool sweaters since these and I just stick to the comfy cotton!
I ordered the Navy color in a large, it fits well. I think it does run just a little small, but an xlarge probably would have been way to big. It is lightweight but warm. A great sweater for fall. I am pleased with it.
I bought both the cardigan and pullover sweaters about two years ago. Within a few weeks, they both began to "pill" very badly. They are now relegated to being worn at home only. They are still warm and comfy, but they look like they're 100 years old! (I still love them though!)
