These sheets are the only sheets we use. They are perfect for our California mountain weather and when the nights are warm we use these sheets as our only cover. I bought multiple sets about five years ago and now I'm about ready to buy more. They do shed during the first few washes, but I don't care about that because they remain soft and thick for years. I have mostly white sheets and they have stayed bright and fresh looking. Thanks L.L. Bean - these sheets are the best!
After reading the reviews on the flannel sheets, I bought some thinking it would help during the Chicago winters. Well, they definitely keep you warm and it is a lot better to jump in your bed when you have flannel sheets than not. However, I encountered a terrible pilling problem. I don't know if I got a lemon in the batch of sheets but it is pretty bad. I have washed the sheets five times (literally) and it continues to be a problem. All over my clothes, underneath the bed, ugh, terrible.
I'm definitely going to contact customer service about it.
I have had these sheets for over four years now. They are soft, sturdy, wear well, are backed with LL Bean's fantastic lifetime guarantee, so I can return them for whatever reason at any time. And since I am an LL Bean Visa card holder I can return them for free. Also, the comforter covers have these wonderful ties inside at each corner inside the cover that fasten the corners of the comforter to the cover which eliminates bunching. This product is one of the reasons LL Bean is such a great company. Hallelujah and Thank You!
The only thing these sheets have going for them is that they are soft. Other than that, they generate a freakish amount pills and shed terribly. I've washed them over and over, hoping the pills would settle down, but they still look horrible and the dryer trap is always filled to capacity with fluff. These are so NOT worth the LL Bean name. LL Bean merchandisers, you need to get rid of these, they're giving Bean's good name a black eye.
