I bought a set of the ultrasoft sheets three or four months ago. I ran them through a wash and dry before using them, and although I checked the lint trap partway through the dry cycle, by the end the trap was completely full of lint ( about 1" thick). After putting them on the bed they continued to lose fibers, and subsequent washings and dryings still result in a nearly full lint trap. There are little lint balls in all the nooks and crannies of my house now, and the sheets are so pilled that they are starting to become uncomfortable to sleep on. I've been an LLBean customer for years and this is the first time I've been dissatisfied with one of their products.
I'm VERY pleased with these sheets & the comforter cover. The fabric is thick & very soft & the price very reasonable. It makes a huge difference in keeping warm at night in a cold house. I've washed the sheets twice & didn't find a huge amount of lint. Some people have found a lot of pilling & lint, but that may depend on your detergent. Try using a detergent for fine wahsables, & use cool water - it should reduce pilling & lint.
This review is for all the sheets (although sold separately, we bought a "set" of fitted & flat sheets, & pillowcases). Very soft & warm. Started big but after a couple uses & washings fit better.
I loved these sheets at first, but they pilled within a month. I didn't wash them before it started. I have the Orange Sunset twin set, and it appears to be discoloring a bit as well (fitted sheet). I wake up every day with orange crumbs on my clothes, in my mouth... I'm hoping I can exchange them and maybe other colors won't do the same thing?
