This chair is a testimonial to American workmanship. The wood is heavy, solid, and appealing. The stain is even and lustrous. We purchased the chair with the ottoman, and find the combination to be extremely comfortable and restful. We are planning to purchase a second chair.
Excellent comfort. Very handsome chair and have just ordered my second one. One drawback: It is not an easy task to put together and it helps to have an electric Phillips screwdriver bit on a drill to put the chair together for sturdiness. Would recommend the purchase.
I am very pleased with this chair. I find it quite comfortable. It looks great-the wood and fabric are high quality. I needed a second person to put it together, and we found the instructions to be rather difficult to follow. We had to figure things out for ourselves a bit, but other than that, I'm quite pleased.
The chair is great except for the cheap insert in the cushions. We had to have a new insert made (cost $69) for the bottom cushion because the one in it broke down really quickly leaving my husband sitting on the wood! We bought similar chairs 15 years ago from Beans and the cushions were thick and are still in good condition!! They should make them like they used to. Also, the footstool leather is a bit different than the chair (more pebbled looking) but it looks okay.
