Sturdy chair. We like it a lot, but one thing we do not like is that when you get up the back cushion seems to go with you and falls on the seat cushion. It doesn't stay in place very well. This seems to be the only drawback to the chair. Was ok in assembling the chair. One person could do it but it does take two. The instructions do state that two people are needed. You have to have a rubber mallet too.
The mission chair is a great piece of furniture, easy to put together' looks great, sits great...but for $500.00 you should at least make sure all the screws are in the package...I got shorten 4 at 5/8th inch wood screws. I put it together as soon as I got it...but I have to go to the hardware store so I can sit in it, and "lean back" however, I do love it. Merry Christmas to me...belated.
This chair fits perfectly in my 1900 built home. Goes great with Bean's other Mission style furniture. I have never bought any furniture of this size online. When I received it (the freight charge was very reasonable) I fell in LOVE. Perfect mission styling, the ash wood is beautiful. It is also made in the USA.
We purchased two Morris chairs with the leather cushions for our office. Assembly was easy and the quality was excellent. The picture shown is exactly the way the assembled chair looks. We are more than pleased. We also purchased four other Mission pieces. It's a great look.
