My husband and I travel a lot -- overseas and stateside -- a friend at church told me about these packers so I ordered a set of them. I was totally blown away at how much "stuff" I could fit in even the middle size bag! (3 pairs of jeans and a pair of shoes). I immediately ordered another set. Our last trip I got almost everything it usually took me 2 roller bags for -- into one bag! Everyone that travels NEEDS at least one set!!
I love these packers so much that I bought another set for my husband. It is amazing how much can fit in them. On my last trip the packers kept my linen clothing almost wrinkle free. When I stay in a hotel, I keep the clothing in them and put them in a drawer. Everything stays organized and neat. I intend to buy sets for Christmas presents this year.
We have been using the older version of this product for nearly six years and have been very happy with it. However, the newer version isn't as light weight. The older version was made of parachute material and this is much thicker and heavier. The picture on the web shows the largest packer with a handle and yet the actual product does not have one. A handle comes in handy. Overall, we are dissapointed in what we received and will unforutnaly be on the hunt for packers similar to LLbeans older version of the ultra light packers. Ironically the new and improved version is not as "ultra light" as the older version. Strange this would happen during a time with extreme weight restrictions associated with air travel.
So this made my second set of recently ordered ultalight packers and I now have two more sets ordered for my husband because I'm not sharing mine! When I first opened them I thought you have got to be kidding me! They looked so small. To give you an idea though, the large one held 3 pairs of jeans, a pair of cropped jeans, and two pairs of twill capris! I think I could have fit something else (thin shorts maybe) but didn't push it. Wish they fit in the adventure duffels. Zippers and seams appeared well made and strong, mesh top makes finding things easy. The only thing I've been unhappy with is not the product but the shipping-I used to get my stuff delivered by Fed-Ex but the last couple of times it's been by UPS which is taking 1-2 days longer-still a reasonable time frame though.
