I love these pants! Worn daily since purchase. Comfortable, thin, fit well under chinos or jeans. Keeps you toasty but they breathe. Recent temps have been low single digits to low 30's. I work indoors and out as a landscape estimator. Invaluable addition to my winter wardrobe. Purchase them and you will be satisfied!
They insulate as they should. I am short and have about a 40" waist. Contrary to Bean's chart, I ordered the M size as I was afraid that the L size would be too long in the leg. Even with my waist, the M was OK, and the length was also fine. Bean's might include an actual inseam length for your long underwear pants.
I got these pants about 3 years ago. As with most LL Bean products they still look the same as the first day I wore them. I usually don't wear them for a long period of time because they are very well insulated and I get hot, but on a very cold day they are wonderful.
