I have this bookbag for both of my children, and it is fantastic. I have them monogrammed and they look cute. My kids are rough on them; wheeling them down the stairs at school, dragging them onto the bus, pulling them down our driveway and through the grass, tossing them in the backseat, and they still hold up! The size is perfect to fit all their homework, lunch, extra sweatshirt, snack, electronic games... And when I had a problem with one of the bookbags, the customer service at L.L.Bean was FANTASTIC! Great quality items, and the BEST customer service, I grew up with L.L.Bean, and my kids will too. Thanks L.L. Bean!
I am a 30-year-old female web developer and I like to bring my laptop home from the office. I purchased this rolling backpack because I wanted something with more style than a standard black rolling laptop case. I also take the subway and I wanted something bright and cheerful and easy to see. I chose the pink "spinning wheels" option and it's quite pretty.
I concur with the other adult reviewers. The backpack handle is too short. I'm still getting used to walking with it after having it for a few weeks. I am 5'5 and I wear flats. It would be great if there were two models, one a bit taller for adults, and one shorter for the elementary through high school set. The wheels are fantastic and definitely the best quality I've seen on any rolling backpack in my long search. The multiple compartments are also a great feature. I can have my lunch in the main compartment, my laptop in the middle, and a book in the very front. I folded over the rain protectors on the zippers because they always get in the way when you zip it up. This product is the best I've found for a rolling backpack, however, I would much prefer a longer handle.
I purchased this rolling backpack because i thought it would be great for carrying all my son's middle school books. He loved the way it looked upon arrival, along with the features. The problem is, he refuses to use it because no one in middle school uses rolling backpacks. I was very excited to purchase this for him, but it will never be used. This would probably be a good purchase for elementary school, but not beyond that.
I have a VERY petite child who could in no way carry a back pack. She usually breaks even the better made ones. I broke down and bought this one half way through the year last year. We are on year two and it still looks brand new. It works great for overnight trips too. I am thinking of buying another for my older daughter, but she is happy with her Healthy back bag.
