Prior to purchasing this backpack for my kids, we went through several store backpacks each school year. I finally decided to buy the rolling backpack and wish that I had done it sooner! My son has had the regular sized backpack for a year and it is still in brand-new condition. I only had to purchase the deluxe version now because he needs a larger size. I wish I had purchased the deluxe to begin with because he would still be using it!

I bought this pack and a slightly larger one for my two sons,at least five years ago.Initially,I baulked at the price(when you include shipping to Ireland,this seemed too expensive) and bought them a cheaper version which they had trashed after one month's use....so I bit the dust and did what I should have done in the first place.Now after five years of active service I am perusing the website again because wheeled backpacks are NOT cool to Irish teenagers who would prefer permanent back damage than image damage.With the handle and frame the backpacks look huge when the kids wear them,however this is an observation rather than a complaint.The backpacks are still in excellent condition,zippers,handles and wheels intact and they still look fairly new.My boys would have worked them hard and the treatment would not have been gentle so I applaud their quality.Their future career will be in the comparatively gentler hands of baggage handlers as we will use them for travelling.I hope that their replacements which I will be ordering from LLB will give as good service
I have used this rolling backpack for nursing school for 2 years. I can stuff it with binders, multiple large heavy books, and my laptop with no problem. The very roomy pocket in the front has plenty of room for phone, recorder, flashcards, pens, etc. There is no way I could have carried the stuff I need everyday without it. Looks as good as the day it arrived.

purchased for my sixth grade son last september. i have to say that it is the best backpack that we have ever owned. it has survived class trips, camps, and day to day usage! the wheels are outstanding for heavy loads. the bracket does take away some space in the main compartment of the pack, but i am willing to make that compromise to save my son's postural health!!!:) the work load of high school and college and the load of materials that those students require may make this pack obsolete. i am so pleased with the pack that i just ordered another for future use! you can feel confident in the construction and the durability of this l.l.bean pack.:)
