This was my first purchase at LLBean. I received a catalog in the mail and saw this book bag. In the past, I've purchased book bags at a local store. My grandsons destroy at least 3 bags each a year. This bag lasted the entire school year and is still in excellent shape. It holds a great deal of supplies and books; and everything else that they've managed to place it--including the frog. The lockers are smaller this year, so I've ordered the Quad Pack. I'm expecting the same excellent quality. It's more than worth the price.
After asking many friends what bookbags they used last year, SEVERAL people said this bag was one that did NOT rip at the bottom- where the wheels are. My daughter's bag (from another company) last year barely made it with all the holes! We just got our LL Bean bag and are thrilled and have very high expectations for it holding up! My only complaint is that there is no bottle holder for my daughter to carry her water. But this is minor if the bag holds up as well as everyone says it does!
In the fall of 2007 I ordered a backpack and lunch box for my daughter, who was entering middle school. Prior to that time she had been going through 2-3 backpacks (and just as many lunch boxes) each school year. Even though I had little hope that these would survive any longer than their predecessors, I had them both monogrammed. At the end of this last school year - after two full years of use - my daughter mentioned that her backpack is still going strong. Not a fray, not a tear, not a scuff. The handle still works perfectly - as do the wheels. She usually carries it on her back and the straps (the bane of my existence with all of her previous backpacks) are still in perfect shape too. Thank you SO much for such an outstanding - high quality item. I can't say enough about that - and your customer service. You all rock!
