I've only had this rolling bag a couple weeks, and am already loving it so much. The books, binders, and laptop that I was carrying to my college classes at night were making for a very achey back. Now it's pretty effortless to get to class, and my back is feeling great. One of the first nights that I used this bag, it rained, but you sure wouldn't know it to look at the bag. Everything still looks brand new. Oh, and I should add that I'm rolling through an asphalt parking lot that is pretty bumpy, and the wheels still look great.
I've bought 4 wheeled backpacks from LL Bean now. The most recent one for my daughter who outgrew her old smaller model, which is still in great shape. After my sons beat up their backpacks regularly and I was tired of buying 2 or more per year, I invested in LL Bean rolling backpacks on a suggestion by a friend. That was two full school years ago and my sons are still using theirs and they are still in good shape. I'm really impressed with the durablility.
I have found the Rolling Deluxe Book Pack to be extremely sturdy, withstanding all kinds of weather, dragging up and down school bus steps, and overloads of books. Tons of room; completely reliable in every sense of the word.
Both my boys can walk to school rolling their backpacks or carrying them on their backs riding their bikes. Very easy to pull and navigate even on the icy sidewalks of New England.
