We have only had this book pack four a month, but it seens really great. Lots of room and we have had a lot of rain and the stuff inside was dry. My daughter is a very light 9 year old and it pulls real ease. Made very well.
What a great product! We have purchased SO many packs over the last few years for our 8-yr-old son that just fray, fragment, and fall apart in a few weeks or months. This LL Bean Backpack looks as new as the day we got it 2 months ago! Great organisational layout for the pockets and proper weighting of the pack are bonuses. I purchased one of these backpacks for my son 4 years ago. He is now a senior in High School. He has not only used it for school but also for travel. It still looks brand new. I'm sure he will use it all the way through college. So this fall when my daughter wanted a new backpack- one of the trendy cheap ones- I said,"Go onto the LL Bean WEB site & build a backpack." She enjoyed picking her colors & the font for her initials. It is the last backpack I will ever need to buy for her.
I love the back pack. It has tons of room. But make sure that the straps are securely tucked in when your kids are wheeling it. After two weeks of use I noticed that the woven part of the strap had worn out from being caught under the wheels. I don't think this is a defect only carelessness on the users part.
