this bookbag is well constructed and very easy to roll. the nice handle extends smoothly and makes heavy loads easy to manuveur. noticed a crack in the handle after receiving the bookbag, called customer service, and they were great. they immediately sent us a new one, and provided a shipping label for the most easy return. llbean is first class.
This backpack is durable, functional and a pleasure to use. My 11-year-old son burned through two other backpacks this year before I broke down and spent the money on this one. The wheels are high quality as is the telescoping handle and sewn on hand grip. Go for the monogram, too. My son lives out of this bag for school and enjoys this reliable backpack in his favorite color. It's a winner.
This bookbag is excellent, except for one detail. The shoulder strap adjustment belts get sloughed off from friction with the ground when the bag is pulled along, limiting the possibility for how much the straps can be loosened after this has happened. This is not just our personal experience - since the rolling bags have become more popular, torn off segments of the belts about 8 ins in length can readily be found on and around school grounds. I hope LLBean will design a solution for this issue eg a popper to tie up the excess belt.
This backpack is sturdy for everyday use; would highly recommend this selection. The only design change I suggest is a pocket or two on the outside for water bottle/keys/phone or other items that are frequently needed.
