My kids have used these back and forth to school everyday for years. I have been able to get three years use out of each before buying new (and even then it's just to switch colors and start over.) I even unintentionally backed my SUV over this backpack and it still worked perfectly! This backpack truly works above and beyond the call of duty!
We bought this when our daughter was just an infant. I liked the rolling function because it allowed me to be more handsfree when hauling our daughter somewhere overnight, example: Grandma's house. We use cloth diapers, and I needed something larger than a diaper bag for overnight to take all our diapers and her spare clothes, etc. We bought the matching lunch bag that is insulated and use it to transport food and drinks to grandmas and on long trips, it fits PERFECTLY inside the front zippered area. This is a very sturdy bag. I have been very happy with it's performance. We had it monogrammed and it's beautiful. I will be buying another one soon for our son who will arrive in April. I like the reflective patch on the front and the zippers are very sturdy, like all the LLBean luggage and bag/tote items I own. Very pleased. Highly recommend.
This is an excellent backpack. My daughter loves it and it wheels well, unlike most. She started 5th grade with it and all was well until she had to have a 2" binder. Binders do not do well in the backpack. They do not fit easily. I would recommend this item for K-4 kids who aren't gearing up for middle school. My daughter has to carry her binder and has forgotten it on several occasions. I guess Santa will have to find her a bigger LL Bean backpack for her binder to fit it.
