Needing a weather radio for camping trips I looked at many models but this seem to have what I need at a good price. The only drawback is there is not an adapter with it for use with an electric outlet. Having to order that seperately from the manufacturer is not a good idea. That knocks the rating down a star.
We upgraded to this model after giving the older analog model to a friend that needed one. Glad we made the upgrade! In addition to having a digital tuner, it also has the solar power option which is great for power outages during the day. Glad the regular AA-battery option is still in this model as well. Our area was hit by the tornado outbreak on April 27, 2011, and all we had for info was this weather radio. Truly a life-saver!!!!
Great sound for such a small radio. Lots of features and a must for our storm kit.
I expect it will be a great radio to take camping too. I love the digital display. No more guessing about the right station. Cranks easily and the solar charge is super quick. Highly recommend and will be giving as gifts!
