Just received 2 of these radios, when we had tornados a few weeks ago I didn't have a radio so I purchased two of these for daughter and me. I brought it into to work yesterday so I could try out all the features. I have had it on all day yesterday and this morning. It works great! no batteries are being used and I haven't cranked it. It's working on solar power only from the lights in my office.
Great small emergency radio/cel charger/ flash light. Exactly what I was looking forward with hurricane and tornado season upon us in Florida. I bought a second for my daughter in CO! It is compact and light enough to travel with.
I have a preschool in my basement so we are where we need to be for a tornado drill. We call it "Bad weather - take cover" When we have our drill, we all gather in the bathroom which has no windows but a door. In there I keep our enrollment cards, water, snack and our weather radio. Each drill, we practice turning on the radio and the flashlight. it gives me peace of mind to know we are as protected as possible - hoping to never have to actually do it.
