I love the fact that it can be powered by batteries, solar, or crank. It can be taken anywhere and work. Radio, plus weather news and flashlight, what more do you need! I have it sitting on my desk at the moment, but plan on taking it with me in the car for trips.
For the purchase price I can't believe that the radio did not come with power cord (optional). It's difficult to keep charged even with batteries. The display light stays on for about 2 seconds and the digital readout is difficult to see and read. Not very good when it comes to a radio. I purchased this after going through a power outage and winter storm. I expected more I guess.

I live in California and after the disaster in Japan felt increasingly concerned about being prepared for an emergency. I've been meaning to buy this radio for a long time and am glad I finally did. It has all the features I need, it's durable, it's light and it's attractive. In addition to feeling more ready for a disaster, I'm also looking forward to taking it camping. Love this radio!
