The radio works very well. It is compact yet has terrific sound. The radio connects to a cell phone using a USB connector, so it should be easy to use to charge a cell phone. With the difficult weather, it is great to have such a backup device.
It receives weather channels very well. Channels are pre-programmed so using the radio to receive NOAA broadcasts is very simple.l
I love the emergency weather radio and all its features. It has a bright light and many weather bands plus AM/FM radio. There hasn't been enough sunlight to charge the solar batteries, but the 3 AAA batteries are good for about 1 week. It appears to "eat" batteries. I plan to buy rechargeable batteries soon. I notice there is a charger for the radio in the Eton brochure. It might be a good idea to sell it as an accessory to the radio. When the batteries run low, the radio is useless.
Gave this radio to my husband as a Christmas present. He was very pleased with all the features on it. Seems to work great. If your power goes out like ours in bad weather, then this is what you need.
