My wife just purchased this over Christmas. While we've only used it several times, so far, it is great. Since we rely on the weather reports a great deal, this radio provides in-depth information. We are using the AAA batteries and solar charge right now, and will purchase the AC power adapter. We are purchasing one for a waterman friend of ours... We will probably purchase a 2nd one in the future to keep in another location.
The radio is compact and has many features. When the power goes out, no need to search for batteries as you can hank crank, or utilize the sun for solar option. The light is nice and bright as well. Favorite feature: weather band signals...............all the information you need while wondering what the storm is bringing. I just obtained the radio therefore I can't say how long the batteries stay charged, I'm hoping a long time
I'll keep this one at our place in TX. We're way out in the country there and if the electricity happens to go off, I want to know what kind of weather is sneaking up on me! This is a great little piece of equipment because of the crank to charge up the battery!
