So far so good. The first one shipped, did not work properly. Draining the batteries over a 24 hour period. L L Bean sent a replacement and I am enjoying the new one.

I sent this item to my daughter. She has had frequent power losses in the area where she lives. She was absolutely thrilled with this item and could not believe the many features that included a wind up power handle, requiring no battery. I would definitely give this item as a gift and will purchase one for myself.
found the buttons and controls to be a problems.. on off not clear did not always work..too small and hidden below solars cell and each time you shut it off it resets the radio to the bottom of the dial so you have to work back to your station.
