Bought this radio to put in our household grab and go box in case of emergency. We took it out camping with us a few days ago to see how well it REALLY worked and am pleased to say that even in a remote campsite, we had great reception of the emergency stations and even picked up a couple of music stations that the stereo in our truck couldn't get on the mountain. The radio is small and easy to use, we particularly love the LED flashlight built in and the alarm clock function. I am a bit worried about the durability of the crank handle but, it seems to be fine. Not sure I'll be able to put it away for emergency use only because I love the orange color!
This little radio works great and is just what we needed to add to our camping supply list. I don't think that it would take a lot of abuse but works well and hopefully will last a long time.
my husband has wanted a crank radio for a while. he is compiling an emergency kit. this one had it all: crank, led lights, radio, usb port, ac adaptor jack, clock, alarm, solar power...all in a very cute and compact form. i am sure you can get bigger more powerful ones, but this one fits our family needs perfectly.
I just bought this radio a week ago and today we're sitting listening to the Hurricane Irene broadcasts. The radio works great, no problems with local, FM or NOAA broadcasts. First day we had it charged it up on solar and just keep it ready. Good product. Good deal.
