Thinking I was purchasing a model like the one I own, I gave this as a Christmas gift. The improvements in the current model put it miles ahead of mine! I am envious. Cranking is so much easier. Having digital really helps locate the desired station. The emergency light is very bright. Whether you want a light weight, compact radio for camping or a versatile unit for home use in bad weather, I highly recommend this one. I really wish LL Bean sold the cord for charging the cell phone however.
I PURCHASED THIS FOR MY HUSBAND FOR CHRISTMAS. IT WORKS REALLY WELL. WE HAVE IT CLOSE IN CASE OF POWER OUTAGES. IT MAKES ME FEEL MORE SECURE WITH THE SOLAR POWER, LIGHTS, RADIO, AND CELL PHONE CHARGER. I HOPE WE NEVER NEED IT FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, BUT IF WE DO IT WILL WORK.
This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my brother. We were experiencing a snow storm at the time and I thought this would be a great gift. When my brother opened the gift, he said that he had been wanting go get on to use on his fishing boat. I certainly made the right choice!!
I did not like the radio because: The light switch didn't work. It didn't pull in too many stations. The price is too high for the quality. I sent it back. My other three items purchased were great!
