I am disappointed with the radio I received from LLBean. It does not work. The crank handle powers up the unit but nothing else happens. None of the channels emit any sound and I can not pick up any radio signals. My opinion of this radio is unacceptable.
We ordered this in red. When it came the flasher and the siren didn't work. It's reception was clear as a bell. LL Bean was out of red ones to replace it, so sent a black one. This one had very poor reception, crackely, so we returned both and did not re-order. We talked to the maker Eton, who said "oh, you must have one of the bad ones".
We recently had a power outage in the NC Mountains which lasted 4 days. This was a lifesaver for me! I was able to keep up with the status of the power outage as well as listen to my favorite stations to keep me company. I was surprised at how long it lasted after each cranking.
