I bought this for my husband to use outside our house as a radio but to have also as an emergency radio for our household. I was impressed at the strength and quality of sound it had. We live in a very rural area and it picked up several channels with good quality sound.
Received it for Christmas. Very lightweight and smaller than I expected. I love the solar power aspect which has kept it working with no batteries inserted yet. The clock, alarm and 30/60/90 minute countdown for turnoff is nice for at night or working with and not remembering to turn off after use. Directions were a little bit confusing, but got everything working quite quickly. Have not had to use the power crank yet. But it will be a biggie in future tests because history shows from other cranking radios and lights I've owned, the battery systems do not last very long in the life of the system.
I gave my husband, and each of my grown sons one of these nifty radios for Christmas gifts. They really got a kick out of being able to generate their own electricity. Although living in different states, we've all had power outages already this winter. This radio is good thing to have around the house or carry in the car. The capacity to power a cell phone is also a great plus. Thanks LLBean.
