We gave this radio to our 7-year-old grandson for his birthday on December 19, and I don't think he has put it down since. He did have some trouble with the flashing light not working all the time, but he is fascinated with all the different sources of power.
As public services are being decreased across the country, people are going to have to be more self-sufficient in emergency situations. This radio with all of its various different possible energy sources can help with all important communications. It is simple to use, is lightweight and compact. Very handy in an emergency situation.
I had to return the first radio as the solar cell failed after about two weeks of intermittent use. LLBean was happy to send me a replacement. After three weeks of occasional use, it is still working. However, it is supposed to be used in an emergency. I hope it is still working if one occurs.
